You'd think that over 6,000 performances would be enough to satisfy an audience, but A Chorus Line tickets are coming back, much to the delight of thespians everywhere. The show was one of the all-time greats on Broadway, and it enjoyed a run of nearly 15 years beginning in 1975. The show was so successful
About the Story
A Chorus Line is about just what it is - a Broadway production. The show contains 19 characters, including the director, a choreography assistant and 17 prospective members of a show. The dancers nervously show up for an audition, and the director and choreography assistant are charged with choosing four boys and four girls for the chorus line.
As the dancers prepare for their final audition, the director throws them for a loop with an unusual request: He wants to know more about them. Specifically, he wants to know about their lives, their backgrounds, their fears and their hopes and dreams. The dancers as a group are extremely reluctant to talk, but the plot begins to unfold after the first dancer opens up to the director.
A Chorus Line tickets start to display their value at this point in the plot, as all of the dancers figure out a way to tell their stories through incorporated dance numbers and songs. Many of the female dancers tell and sing their stories of how they love ballet for its beauty, to replace absent fathers, and many other uplifting and somewhat tragic reasons.
The male dancers also tell their tales, and the plot becomes quite intricate as the audience gets to know the characters progressively. We won't tell you how it ends, as this is a ( Next Page )
